Whistleblower Reporting

At Dovida, we are committed to providing safe, high-quality aged care and acting lawfully, ethically and honestly. Speaking up – about something you’ve seen, experienced, or suspect – helps us uphold that commitment for everyone connected to our services.

We welcome any verbal, written, or anonymous disclosure. Everyone who raises a genuine concern is protected.

What You Can Report

You can raise concerns about serious wrongdoing, including:

  • Abuse, neglect or unsafe care
  • Fraud, theft or dishonest behaviour
  • Illegal or unethical conduct
  • Risks to health, safety or the environment
  • Retaliation against someone who has raised a concern

Every concern is taken seriously, even if you are unsure whether it qualifies.

Who Can Make a Report

Anyone can make a report, including:

  • Older people receiving care
  • Family members, carers or advocates
  • Visitors or members of the public
  • Volunteers or community partners

You do not need to be an employee to be protected.

How Your Report Is Handled

When a concern is raised, it is reviewed by a trained officer. If needed, an independent investigation is conducted. You will be kept informed where possible, and all outcomes are recorded and monitored. Every investigation is conducted fairly, confidentially and respectfully.

You Can Report Anonymously

You do not need to give your name if you don’t want to. Anonymous disclosures are welcome – your concern will still be investigated, and you can choose to remain anonymous throughout the process.

Your Protections

If you speak up, the law is on your side. You are protected by:

  • Confidentiality – your identity will not be shared without your consent, unless required by law
  • Protection from harm or retaliation
  • Access to support services, including advocacy or counselling
  • Legal protections under the Aged Care Act 2024 and the Corporations Act 2001

How Your Report Is Handled

When a concern is raised:

  1. It is reviewed by a trained officer
  2. If needed, an independent investigation is conducted
  3. You will be updated where possible (unless you choose to remain anonymous)
  4. Outcomes and actions are recorded and monitored

Investigations are designed to be fair, confidential and respectful to everyone involved.

If your concern relates to the care or services you or someone you know receives, raising a complaint may be more appropriate. Visit our Complaints Management page for more information.
