Advancing Palliative Care at Home
Our palliative care is person-centred and ensures comfort, dignity and quality of life in the familiar surroundings of home. Our palliative-trained caregivers work alongside you, as health professionals, our clients and their families to provide holistic, coordinated care that supports the whole family throughout their journey.
We recognise that everyone is unique and we offer a variety of flexible care options, tailored to individual needs and preferences.
Palliative care at Dovida:
- Is provided by palliative-trained caregivers – we are responsive and have immediate capacity to support your patients
- A range of care options are available including 24-hour and live-in care
- We work in partnership with community palliative care teams and specialist organisations
- A Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner provides clinical oversight
Live-in Care
With live-in care, a caregiver moves into the client’s home and supports them as needed throughout the day. They are on-call to provide care whenever is needed.

Funding Palliative Home Care
Palliative care can be privately funded or can be subsidised through the government’s Support at Home End-of-Life Pathway.
The End-of-Life Pathway
This pathway is intended to support people who wish to remain at home during their final weeks or months:
- Up to $25,000 in funding over a 12-week period for people assessed as having three months or less to live.
- Available to people aged 65 and over (or 50 and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people).
- Covers a variety of services including personal care, nursing, home help etc. Note: co-contributions apply for non-clinical services.
- Eligibility is assessed by a doctor or nurse practitioner. Our information sheet below explains more.
- Funding is available for both new participants and those already receiving Support at Home services. This replaces any Support at Home ongoing classification.
- Can be used in conjunction with AT-HM (Assistive Technology only)
We work in partnership with you, your patients and their families to deliver integrated, coordinated care.
